White Crystal Gua Sha: How to Use It
Share
Toulane has always been about rituals that actually mean something — not just products, but the small moments of care built into using them. That's why we've added a White Crystal Gua Sha to the line: a tool with roots in ancient Chinese skincare tradition, now part of how we think about skin, touch, and slowing down.
What Gua Sha Actually Does
Gua Sha is a gentle scraping technique using a smooth-edged tool — traditionally jade or, in our case, clear quartz crystal — glided across the skin. Practiced for centuries, it's built around one simple idea: skin responds to touch, not just to what's applied on top of it. Used regularly, it can support circulation, ease tension in the face, and turn your skincare routine into a few unhurried minutes rather than a rushed step.
How to Use Your Toulane Gua Sha
- Start with clean skin and a facial oil or serum underneath — like our Blooming Bliss Face Oil — so the tool glides rather than pulls.
- Hold the Gua Sha at a low angle, almost flat against the skin.
- Sweep gently outward and upward — jawline to ear, cheek to temple, brow bone outward — using light pressure, not force.
- Repeat each stroke 3–5 times per area, working from the center of your face outward.
- Finish along the neck, sweeping downward toward the collarbone.
Why We Brought It Into the Toulane Routine
Our formulas have always leaned on what's real — cold-pressed olive oil, small-batch production, ingredients with actual history behind them. Gua Sha fits that same instinct: a practice that's endured because it works, not because it's trending. Paired with our oils and butters, it turns a skincare step into a short ritual — exactly the kind of thing Toulane was built around.
